From July 2018 through June 2019, the AHRA Education Foundation (EF) fundraising efforts garnered contributions totaling over $46,000.
The Annual Appeal serves as a primary funding mechanism for the general operating budget of the EF. From August 2018 through December 2018, the member drive campaign raised an additional $5,900 from our members. The 2019 annual appeal campaign kicked off in January this year. We are pleased to announce that we have raised $32,081 from January 2019 through June 2019. This total consists of actual funds and monthly commitments from our members.
The goal was to raise $30,000 from member constituents by year end. This is the first time the goal has been achieved and surpassed prior to the start of the Annual Meeting. AHRA members may contribute to the EF by sending in a donation through the website at any time or including a donation with their membership dues. Thank you to all of you who support the Annual Appeal.
New to the campaign this year was a fourth level of giving, The Legacy Circle for members who donate $500 or more. There are currently 41 Legacy Circle members with donations exceeding $21,000.
We also send out a special thank you to our corporate sponsors for their constant support and the programs they help fund. Please see our list of corporate partners on the following pages. We look forward to our continued relationships with them.
In 2018, one member attended the Annual Meeting through the AHRA Annual Meeting Scholarship program, which is co-sponsored by the EF and Hitachi. The Osborn Scholarships are funded solely by the EF. We were honored to offer it to seven members for the annual meeting, three members and two military members. Recipients are offered up to $1,500 to attend the Annual Meeting. There were two recipients for the spring conference: one member and one military member, each receiving up to $1200. The were six recipients of the Ed Yoder Fall Virtual Conference: five members and one military member. There are no travel costs associated with the virtual conference.
There were two recipients of the Broadley Scholarships. This EF program provides financial assistance to AHRA members who have been accepted into an initial undergraduate or graduate degree program relevant to a supervisory career in the medical imaging field.
The CRA Exam Scholarship was introduced in 2014. This provides opportunities for AHRA members who might not otherwise be able to afford the registration fees associated with the test to take the CRA exam. The CRA Exam Scholarship is also solely funded by the EF. Two members received the scholarship for the November 2018 CRA exam, and two members received it for the May 2019 exam.
The EF had the opportunity to recommend a member to fill a vacancy of the Curriculum Committee. Brenda Ford Reinhart was recommended to the committee chair and Brenda was asked to sit on the committee.
Due to the term expiration of one EF Board member, the EF was asked to recommend a member to the AHRA Board of Directors to fill the seat. The AHRA Board accepted the recommendation of Marjory Savino to fill the vacancy. Terry Bucknall was elected as Chair and Joe Phillips as Vice Chair for 2019-2020.
A special thank you goes out to all of our exceptional volunteers who give of themselves, their time, and resources. Our association would not be as strong as it is without their commitment. Our success allows us to deliver pertinent and meaningful educational programs to our membership. Thank you all for your continuing support to OUR organization!
